Abstract

Physical activity has multiple health benefits in various aspects of life. However, there is limited research on differences in mental health indicators according to the type of physical activity. This study examined these differences and explored the relationship between the frequency and practice of physical activity with these psychological indicators. Data from 199 Argentine adults between the ages of 18 and 60 (M = 28.44; SD = 11.29) were analyzed. The results indicated that those who engaged in physical activity had higher levels of well-being and lower levels of distress compared to non-practitioners. A significant relationship was also found between the frequency of physical activity and psychological well-being and distress. However, no significant differences were found based on the type of physical activity.
