Abstract

This research aimed to find associations between organizational virtues (support and respect, meaning and inspiration, forgiveness) and positive characteristics perceived in labor organizations, as well as the differences in such virtues according to organizational variables (size, type of company, type of predominant activity), and the level of prediction about outcome variables (organizational / individual performance and job satisfaction). The sample consisted of 459 argentinian employees (232 men); average age: 36.3 years (SD = 11.7); belonging to public companies (17.2%, n = 79) and private companies (82.6%, n = 379). For data collection this research used: Organizational Virtues Inventory, Organizational Commitment Scale, Work Stress Questionnaire and different surveys designed ad-hoc: Socio-demographic, Organizational, Job satisfaction, Organizational and individual performance. Different profiles were generated in which the levels of organizational virtues were associated with perceived positive characteristics. in addition, differences were found in virtues according to type of company and predominant activity. Finally, it was verified that virtues (except for forgiveness) predict good levels of performance and job satisfaction.
