Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder Treatment (a Case Study)

Introduction. The comorbidity between Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder is considered a common condition. The nature of the relationship between these two clinical disorders still remains unclear and has properties and nosological/ therapeutic implications difficult to manage. Objectives. The present article aims, from a case study, to approach and deepen the clinical management and the administration of the psychopharmacological treatment, emphasizing its particularities, in patients suffering from this comorbidity. Methods. Presentation of the clinical case through consultation of the patient's process and contextualizing it in a non-systematic bibliographic review in the electronic databases Medline / Pubmed.Discussion and conclusions. The clinical case presented showed not only nosological difficulties but also the need for a careful and systematic clinical approach. in short, there is a great deficit in clinical, psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic management, lacking additional investment and clinical investigation.
