Abstract

The “Online Gambling Questionnaire” (CAOL) aims to explore and characterize the behaviors linked to online gambling while allowing screening, evaluation and diagnosis of Gambling Disorder. Problematic Internet Use mostly impacts young people, who are more vulnerable to factors such as job instability, stress, and anxiety. The demands of modern life can lead to the installation of habits of prob- lematic use of technology, among which are online sports betting, which are within reach through applications and social networks on mobile phones. The diagnosis of Gambling Disorder presents two fundamental aspects: on the one hand, a clinical aspect, aimed at detecting people who suffer from this disorder in order to offer them treatment spaces. On the other hand, the epidemiological aspect, which seeks to determine the prevalence of the disorder and influence the development of public policies on gambling. For both cases, the creation of this instrument is necessary and extremely useful.
