Abstract

Electronic sports have gained ground in recent years, becoming one of the main hobbies of children and adolescents. Thanks to this growth, scientific psychology has undergone the study of players dedicated to these sports, following the guidelines of classical sports psychology and using traditional variables in athletes, such as the state of Flow. The objective of this study was to analyze what personality traits predict the Flow state in amateur players of one of these esports, League of Legends. A sample of 302 (91% male) amateur players was formed, with an average age of 23. The results showed that the greatest positive predictors of the Flow state were openness to experience and extroversión, and neuroticism proved to be a negative predictor.
