Temporality and the Logic of Time (part I): Conceptual and Methodological Issues
Keywords:
Psychopathology of time , Temporal Logic , Approach to subjectivity Method (Mas), Subjective timeAbstract
Introduction: the study of time experiences in psychopathology has not been an easy task due to the difficulties in conceptualizing time, hence philosophy has played an important role in this purpose, much greater than in other psychological functions. thus, it has been very difficult to elaborate a precise idea of "subjective time", whereas the idea of "objective time" which flows uniformly has been clear from the beginning. Objective: this research aims to address the temporal experiences of patients through the "temporal logic", a relatively recent form of formal analysis that has made up for the deficiencies of the "classical" or "aristotelian" logic. Materials and methods: to collect and then try to formalize these experiences we have the approach to subjectivity Method (Mas) that uses non-directive interviews and enables the faithful record of the statements of the patients. Results: from there, in this first part, we have defined the logical-temporal properties of normal experiences, to address, in the second, the logical-temporal errors contained in the pathology.
